Gate Valves

The Gate Valves has the advantage of extremely low drag when fully open. However, when the valve is used in half-open position, vibration and erosion are likely to occur due to turbulence in the fluid flow, making it unsuitable for use at intermediate positions. For this reason, this is a typical type of on/off valve used for fully open or fully closed operation.
JIS terms: Gate Valves

  • 1)The disk-shaped disc (valve element) housed in the body (body) of valve moves at right angles to the flow path to open and close the valve body. It is designed to stop the fluid using the wedge effect of disc.
  • 2)The above-mentioned disc is called a Gate Valve or a Sluice Valve because it is structured to partition the fluid flow. The Gate Valves serves as a “gate” that divides the inside of a house from the outside of the premises, and a “door” dividing a room from another room.
  • 3)Disc is suitable for “on-off” operations, in which fluid flows when the steering wheel is turned to the left and moves up, and fluid flow stops when it is turned to the right and moves down.
