Check Valves

The Check Valve is a valve that maintains fluid-flow constantly in a constant direction. It has a function to prevent backflow. disc is pushed open by the fluid pressure, but when it flows backward, disc closely contacts seat of the body by the back pressure to prevent backflow.
JIS terminology: Check Valve

There are three representative types of Check Valves: swing check, lift check, and wafer check.
KITZ manufactures and sells four types of swing check, lift check, wafer check, and ball check.

  • 1)Swing Check Valves
Designed to be “hinged” at one end of the disk-shaped disk so that it can be freely suspended from a body or other object. It has a small pressure-loss and a structure that makes it easy for fluid to flow. It can be used not only for horizontal piping, but also for vertical piping (flowing upward from the bottom).
  • 2)Lift Check Valves
The stem, handwheel, and disk are removed from the globe valve and covered. The most common type is bore, which has a large fluid-resistance and is smaller.
  • 3)Wafer Check Valves
The body is wafer-shaped, making it much thinner and lighter than conventional shock-absorbing Check Valves. It is a multifunctional, high-performance shock-absorbing Check Valves with a built-in bypass circuit and superior sealing performance in spite of its thin bottage.
  • 4)Ball Check Valves
Disk of the ball valve has a spherical shape that is free in the flow path, and rolls under its own weight when the fluid pressure is lost, blocking the flow path and preventing backflow. When the valve body is fully opened, the flow path is secured linearly, almost the same as bore flow path. The flow path is less resistive, and is not susceptible to foreign matter, slurries, etc., and is mainly used for sewerage.
