What kind of material is it made of?

KITZ manufactures castings in-house based on an integrated production system based on materials. In response to diverse requirements, KITZ produces more than 40,000 types of valve. We own our own castings of bronze, cast iron, ductile and stainless steel, which are valve materials, and our production lines are equipped with state-of-the-art automation equipment to ensure high-quality maintenance and rationalization through high productivity.

Bronze and Brass

Bronze and Brass

Copper + tin + zinc + lead alloy material.
Wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and machinability are good, and it is easy to make complex castings.
It is most suitable for low-and medium-pressure valve.

Cast iron (Cast iron lining)

Cast iron
(Cast iron lining)

It has a relatively low melting point of 1150℃, and is used in valve for low pressure and room temperature.

Ductile cast iron

Ductile cast iron

A material with high cost performance used for steam, water, gas, oil, etc. because of its wide operating pressure and temperature range.

Cast steel

Cast steel

Materials used in piping lines from petroleum refining to oil field chemical plants with a wide operating pressure and temperature range.

Stainless steel

Stainless steel

This material is excellent in corrosivity and durability, and is used in a wide range of fields from petrochemical industry to business facilities.

Special alloy steel

Special alloy steel

Special alloyed steel (Special Alloy Steel) is the most excellent material for pitting and corrosion resistance.

Features of valve’s body

Body material Material characteristics
Gray cast iron (FC200) This material has a history of several thousand years and is used for low pressure and room temperature.
It is also used for everyday pots, kettles, Buddha statues, lanterns, and other works of art.
Spheroidal graphite cast iron (FCD450-10) It has been half a century since it was invented, but it is easy to make it unique to cast iron.
Since the toughness is equivalent to that of copper, the production volume increases year by year, and it is expected to continue to develop.
This is said to be ductile cast iron because it is a tough material.
Ductile iron castings (FCD-S)
Carbon Steel Castings for High Temperature and Pressure Applications (SCPH2) Because steel is tough and has excellent hardness, tensile strength, and impact value, it is used for high temperature and high pressure in various plants.
Stainless steel castings
(SCS13A,SCS14A)
Excellent in corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature and mechanical properties, but is more expensive than others.
Bronze (CAC401,CAC406) Bronze is the first casting used in human history, and is an alloy of tin, zinc, and lead added to copper.
Brass is a copper-zinc alloy, commonly referred to as brass.
It has good workability and corrosion resistance, and is used in relatively low pressure and small size.
Brass (C3771)

Note :
The allowable temperature indicates the extent to which the material can be used and does not apply to valve as is.
The allowable temperature of valve depends on the construction and sealing materials. Please refer to the catalogue for details.
